Nickel and Dimed

 Book review

Barbara Ehrenreich
5/5*

Although this book is over 15 years old, the theme still applies. How can the working poor survive? Barbara puts herself in the shoes of several low level jobs to show us how difficult life can be. These people have jobs but can’t afford to rent an apartment.

Freida McFadden

Author Review

4*/5

Books I have read: Teacher, Inmate and now Boyfriend. They are all thrillers with a twist. There are many others by her that I will get to eventually. I don’t like to read the same author in a row. I don’t want to find a formula to the writing.   So I do space them out a bit. They have been easy reads. Because you know there will be a twist at some point, you try to figure it out ahead of time. I have been surprised by all.

A bit of China Beach if you are old enough to remember that tv series. Basically not an uplifting book but it is a page turner. I’m not surprised it was snapped up to become a movie.
