Audiobooks

At first I could only listen to nonfiction audiobooks. Now I can listen to any type of book as long as it is interesting. I found there are different types of readers. I enjoy when the author reads it themselves. Most have other readers. Some really get into changing their voice for each character. Some readers can ruin the story by their tone such as sounding like they are whining.

I am listening to the Great Gatsby right now. Such a variety of voices are helping me visualize each person. Even his female voices are unique.

Is listening a form of reading? It has been debated. For children,

science states actually reading is better for learning how to read and comprehension. I think if you are reading for pleasure, audio counts. What do you think? Leave a comment.
